The psalmist said, “Teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom”. I pray that as you count the days of this year, you will only find praiseworthy events daily, may you reach positive milestones and set new milestones in the name of Jesus.

Steve Jobs, Co-founder and former CEO of Apple Inc., has influenced many industries and the way we live our lives.  He achieved this by building products that put the user experience and the user’s feelings as they use the products ahead of any consideration. He wanted products that the user will be very happy to use and recommend to someone else. Their products initially looked really expensive, but in recent years, as people have bought less capital-intensive products like the I-pod, people have come to feel the genius of the Apple brand and sales have skyrocketed.  This year, know that you have the potential and ability to fulfil your God-given dreams and visions Steve made a difference, and you are GOD-EMPOWERED TO DO EVEN BETTER.

‘’And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.’’

Joel 2:28

Dreams are God-given mental pictures/imaginations of what your life should be like. This could be regarding a specific area of your life or all aspects of your life; for example family, relationships, finance, profession, finance, invention, hobbies, etc.

Vision can sometimes come as dominant thoughts of purpose and regardless of your present circumstances fight to see your visions and dreams come to pass… Make a vow never ever to waste this year, but to let your vision be:

  1. a motivator
  2. a compass for directing one’s path
  3. an insight into your God-given potential

The fulfilment and actualisation of your dreams and visions begin by

  1. Writing it down – ‘’Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.’’ (Habakkuk 2:2)
  2. Praying about it – ‘’Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened’’ (Matthew 7:7-8)
  3. Believing in it – ‘’If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes’’ (Mark 9:23)
  4. Acknowledging God’s plan – ‘’Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.’’ (Proverbs 3:5-6)
  5. Nurturing it – ‘’Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8)
  6. Acting on it – ‘’prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterwards build your house.’’ (Proverbs 6:6)

Prayer/Affirmation: I pray that the God of glory, the Interpreter of dreams, the mighty God who can do all things will bring our dreams and visions to pass in the precious name of Jesus.
